Thanks to Drumshanbo Tidy Towns, DCs for Bees/Orchards in the Community for inviting Mill Lane Beekeeping to participate in this Pollinator Programme.
On Friday we planted 3 Apple Trees, 1 Pear Tree and 1 Plum Tree. Thanks Matthew for doing the heavy work!
Later in 2022 we will be counting the number of buds in Spring, and Fruits in Autumn. Then we can enjoy the ‘fruits of our labour’!
The Programme has supplied over 1000 mini orchards to be planted up all around the country. They are all made up of the same items and varieties. Then the performance of the orchards can be compared to establish lots of interesting and useful data.
